Java Troubleshooting Engineer

Don’t just learn to write in Java, be part of the team that develops Java itself! We are looking for talented individuals in Mexico who want to be part of the team that for 30 years has made Java into the development platform of choice in the Enterprise and many other fields. Begin your career in the group working with Enterprises in the development and mission critical deployment of Java. You will need to be inquisitive and enjoy problem solving and you will gain the opportunity to develop skills across the many different roles that it takes to develop and ship one of the most used software platforms in the world.

Your responsibilities start with the technical troubleshooting of Java issues for our Enterprise Customers as well as the Java Developer Community. You will need to be able to quickly understand complex situations and partner with both the customer and our engineering staff.

Java knowledge is not a requirement, we are looking for individuals who are interested in taking on challenges and solving problems. Some of the best engineers developing the JDK releases today started without a Computer Science degree, but they were energetic, inquisitive, had a strong desire to learn, and an interest in sharing knowledge with our customers and the Java community. If this describes you too, the Java Team is the place for you.

Responsibilities focus on providing Java troubleshooting to assure the highest level of customer satisfaction. You will use troubleshooting tools and instrumentation to diagnose, document, and resolve customer issues. You will be expected to become skilled in the JDK and be sought after to address critical customer issues.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Drive the effective resolution of customer’s critical technical engagements

  • Operate efficiently in a demanding environment, maintain composure, demonstrate leadership, and communicate in an exemplary manner

  • Report and communicate status to stakeholders in a timely and consistent manner

  • Identify and engage technical specialists as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar technical experience

  • Significant experience in issue identification and problem solving

  • Strong English, both verbal and written
