Amazon Channel Manager, Branded Gift Cards, Japan Gift Cards in Tokyo, Japan

Description

Are you interested in accelerating a growing business? Part of the Amazon Payments organization, Amazon's fast-growing Gift Cards (GC) business significantly contributes to the company's profitability. Within Gift Cards, the Branded Gift Cards team is responsible for managing third-party branded Gift Cards (e.g. Apple, Google) and aspires to have the largest selection of gift cards on Earth, from national brands to local neighborhood businesses.

Amazon is searching for a world-class professional to help grow its branded gift cards business and manage brand relationships in Japan.

This position is responsible for growing the business through business development & marketing. It's also responsible for brand management, on-site sales promotion planning/execution to raise customer awareness of Branded Gift Card and driving innovation for customers.

The position requires strong relationship management skills and a growth mindset. Analysis of business priorities and results while consistently delivering improved customer experiences is a must.

Further responsibilities include the analysis of the competitive market space and business needs, providing input into product requirements, execution of the sales strategy set by local and global team, and providing support to your team in achieving its goals.

You will work with global and local stakeholders internal and external to Amazon including:

  • WW Branded Gift Card peers

  • Brands selling gift card on Amazon

  • Tech integrators

  • Marketing and operations teams

  • Amazon Ads teams

  • Product management, finance, accounting, tax, risk and legal teams

Key job responsibilities

  • Business development with distributors of gift cards and prepaid products

  • Account management and acquisition of gift card brands

  • Maintain Branded Gift Card store including catalogue trouble shooting

  • Managing your own P&L of clients

  • To identify and manage projects

  • Contributing to projects outside of the primary job responsibilities

  • Working somewhat independently and autonomously

  • Handling of difficult problems/efforts and mitigating immediate risks for the business.

About the team

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Tokyo, 13, JPN

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience, particularly in: Vendor management, Business development, channel development, Marketing, Consulting

  • Japanese: Advanced (able to negotiate externally, able to make presentations to management team)

  • English: Intermediate (able to attend internal meetings, able to negotiate internally)

  • Root cause analysis and issue resolution skills based on logical thinking

  • Experience of PL analysis and ownership

  • Analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Catalog management and establishing standard operating procedures

  • Demonstrates the ability to plan, juggle multiple priorities, execute tasks and make things happen in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.

  • Working in a global environment, Extensive cross-cultural working experience

  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do what's necessary.

  • MBA preferred

  • Knowledge on brand/vendor management

  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

  • Knowledge on digital marketing

  • eCommerce or Payments experience
