Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Software Developers at IBM are the backbone of our strategic initiatives to design, code, test, and provide industry-leading solutions that make the world run today - planes and trains take off on time, bank transactions complete in the blink of an eye and the world remains safe because of the work our software developers do. Whether you are working on projects internally or for a client, software development is critical to the success of IBM and our clients worldwide. At IBM, you will use the latest software development tools, techniques and approaches and work with leading minds in the industry to build solutions you can be proud of. As a Software Developer Intern, your primary responsibility will be to develop and enhance various troubleshooting tools used within IBM technical support team to provide efficient problem resolution. You will work on diagnostic tools such as network analyzers, diagnostic software, monitoring platforms, log analysis tools, and debugging utilities. The products we are developing -

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tool Development: Develop a suite of troubleshooting tools, including but not limited to network analyzers, diagnostic software, monitoring platforms, log analysis tools, and debugging utilities.

  • Tool Optimization: Configure and fine-tune tools to meet specific operational requirements and maximize their effectiveness in diagnosing and resolving issues. This may involve customizing settings, creating scripts, or integrating with existing systems.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Skill Requirements:

  • Understanding of networking concepts, Linux operating system, and IT background.

  • Familiarity with programming languages and development tools (e.g. Java, Python, Bash, Linux commands, Git) for automation and customization of troubleshooting tools.

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues.

  • Good reporting, time management, analytical and English communication capabilities.
