Summary:

The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care. High School or Equivalent and completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program and 1-year surgical technician experience OR High School or Equivalent and completion of a military or hospital-based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.

Required Skills also includes Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up. Preferred: NBSTSA or NCCT.

14-week assignment St. Anthony's Hospital St Petersburg, FL

630am-330pm shift 5x8 hour shifts with on call requirements.

30-minute call response time when on call and the minimum call requirement for each surgical tech in the department per 6 week staffing schedule is as follows:

2 overnight on call shifts (9:30pm-6:30am) M-F,

1 10hr call shift on either Sat. Or Sun. (630am-5pm),

1 24-hour call shift on either Sat. or Sun. (630am-630am).

For a total of a minimum of 4 on call shifts during a 6-week time period

Minimum Qualifications:

Education equivalent experience:

Essential: * Required - High School or Equivalent; Required - Technical Diploma Surgical Technology

Preferred: Associates in Surgical Technology

Credentials:

Essential: * Required - BLS (Basic Life Support); CST Certification (Surgical Tech) if less than 5 years' experience.
