Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.

They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements. This team is considered the global process leaders for high speed progressive die stamping, injection molding of engineered plastic resins and the assembly of terminals, housings, and connectors at various levels of automation for the Appliances Industry.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for Design and Development of Automation and processes to support new product development and time to launch the dies at plant.

• Conduct print reviews of new product and provide recommendations to improve the design and the manufacturability.

• Finish all deliverables according to project request like as DFM, PFMEA, TAR, RFQ

• Provide cost estimations for new Assembly machine tooling and processes.

• Ensure Automation and processes are designed to be capable of producing good quality products efficiently and effectively at the lowest possible cost.

• Assess and provide risk analysis and risk mitigation for Assembly processes.

• Implement best demonstrated practices or TE Best Knowledge into new Automation builds.

• Participate in design reviews, optimize Assembly designs, and have a working knowledge of Creo or other equivalent software.

• Experience in collaborating with global cultures in a project manager led / team environment.

• Generate Tooling Approval Requirements for Automation or Assembly process which includes defining capability study requirements.

• Work with TE Connectivity manufacturing plants and global suppliers to design, build, and condition new Automation.

• Evaluate the overall dimensions of Assembly product and make recommendations for improvements before releasing the Assembly into production.

• Good communication skills and the ability to articulate technical data effectively.

• 10% of traveling may be required.

• The Assy Engineer will report directly to the Appliances Sr. Manager of Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering.

Position Requirements:

• Proficient verbal and written English

• 8-10 years in Assembly processing and Automation development experience

• B.S. Automation Engineering or Equivalent

• Excellent communication skills

• Must be able to effectively work with people of diverse cultural backgrounds

• Strong aptitude for problem solving

• Flexible work schedule to work with global teams
