MG2 Project Manager in Shanghai, China
MG2 is looking for talented Project Manager to join our Shanghai, China office!
Responsibilities
Leads a team in project design with support and oversight as needed
Handle technical and production aspects of projects
Actively collaborates and manages work of junior designers
Actively participates in design charrettes and conversations
Check for code compliance, coordinate with consultants / contractors and develop construction details
Understand design intent and goals for successful implementation
Manage the design control / construction administration phase of projects
Maintain firm-wide documentation procedures and standards
Support project management in staffing, fee estimating and scheduling
Proposals / budget development and project status updates
Client coordination
Provide technical guidance to project staff
Conduct performance review feedback for project staff
Possess full knowledge of industry best practice standards and expectations
Owns responsibility for sustainable design of project
Manages design effort and resources within assigned budget hours
Assists with budget development
Manages LEED process or equivalent
Identifies add services as they arise and potentially assists with assigning budget to add services
Works with technical architects to ensure implementation of design intent
Plays active role in leading project entitlements and design review hearings
Produces work that advances MG2’s brand
Produces work that supports client brand
Ensures that client recognizes value in design process
Advances design expertise of the studio
Ensures that projects meet design goals
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's of Architecture
Licensed or certified professional
Minimum of 15 years of experience in architecture, interior design or related field
Demonstrated ability to deliver design solutions
Demonstrated design ability within market
Maturing, effective people management skills
Experience with jurisdictional planning approvals, entitlements and research, presentations and site planning
Experience with building material research / implementation and sustainability
Well-rounded knowledge base
Understanding of material and FF&E pricing
Understanding of constructability
Strong understanding of design ordinances
Demonstrated understanding of all aspects of construction documentation including specifications
Proven ability to interpret and push limits of design ordinances to achieve design goals
Beginning involvement with external community or professional organizations
Strong Revit and AutoCAD skills
Proficient with SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, hand sketching / detailing
Proficient in English
