Citigroup Project Management Lead in San Antonio, Texas
The Project Lead is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Primary focus on creating and launching solutions in support of Project Management governance and performance in adherence to Citi Program Management Policy (CPMC), guidance from Operations Centralized Program Management Office (PMO) leadership. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, and influence others, in particular colleagues within the PMO. Provides advice and counsel related to project management governance and disciplines.
Responsibilities:
Advise and provide direction to organizational leaders on methods to improve capabilities
Develop curriculum for a virtual organization
Leverage, promote, and communicate PM best practices across the organization
Manage and enable team members to achieve organizational objectives
Prepare, support and help individuals/teams drive organizational change
Liaison with Organizational Program Management Office
Prioritize and manage multiple deliverables
Monitor development programs and PM tools -- identify areas of improvement and future training needs
Develop Leadership dashboard and scorecards for PM Quality reporting to drive effective governance and ascertain where process improvements opportunities exist
Create efficiencies and identify ways to drive common practice/process and work with leadership to optimize alignment, as required
Other duties, as required
Work with team counterparts to drive a consistent and uniform change experience using Change Readiness best practices
Partner with PMO leadership team to develop timely, engaging, and relevant communications including:
Technology release communications
Process change announcements
Best Practice updates
Develop communication templates to be utilized by Centralized PMO (CPMO) leadership team when communicating with stakeholders at all levels of the organization (officer through Managing Director)
Lead CPMO meetings with leadership, stakeholders, presenting upcoming changes to raise awareness and remediate potential issues prior to launch
Design and deliver training to staff members on system changes and process improvements.
Lead the charge on adoption and training on the Project Tracking System (PTS)
Owns project goals leveraging expertise to inspire a sense of shared purpose within the project team.
Prepares, maintains, and submits clear and concise performance reports and capacity/management reports.
Defines, teaches, and enforces the use of good project management practices such as techniques in resolving complex, interdependent activities into tasks and sub-tasks that are documented, monitored and controlled.
Promotes good working relationships across project management team, cultivating the people skills needed to develop trust and communication among all of a project's stakeholders and its sponsors.
Qualifications:
6-10 years of project management experience; successfully launching process improvement initiatives
PMP or ACP certification strongly preferred, Six Sigma a plus.
Self-starter with experience at handling organizational change in a process-driven project environment
Comfortable working in environments where you’ll need to manage and engage with teams that need to balance both client-centricity and internal/external controls
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, able to handle diverse situations, multiple initiatives and changing priorities
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence, manage and articulate clearly to project stakeholders and senior management
Extensive experience working with various control partners and demonstrated success to strict adherence of control framework, policy and procedures
Lead through influence skills – ability to engage, motivate, drive results, and hold a diverse set of colleagues across the organization accountable for attaining set goals and objectives
Critical thinker with problem solving capabilities
Positive, can-do attitude; does what it takes attitude to drive success
Attentive to detail and have confidence with metrics, performance tracking, reports, and presentations. You are proficient with MS Project, Excel, Access, or other analytical tools associated with project management
Excellent presentation and MS PowerPoint skills
Broad understanding of practice management and performance improvement strategies
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
Knowledge of project metrics, including gathering, reporting, trend analysis, creation, and metrics.
Stays abreast of current industry trends and new technology through professional associations, trade journals, networking, and associated training and seminars.
