Vestis Services Operator Procurement in Portland, Oregon

Description

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Responsible for acquiring materials and documents to fulfill requests for purchases, including preparing purchase orders and handling inquiries about orders. Follows through with purchase from order placement to fulfillment and ensures order arrives undamaged and on time. Ordering of all Emblems.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

--Examining departmental purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy necessary to support the buying process

--Seeing that POs are issued, shipped, and received on a timely basis

--Respond to customer and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.

--Contact suppliers in order to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.

--Maintain knowledge of all organizational and governmental rules affecting purchases

--Various Ad-hoc requests supporting the Center Led Procurement process

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

--Acute sense of urgency, excellent customer service skills and demeanor

--Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

--Detail oriented

--Strong command of Microsoft Word and Excel; MS Access a plus

--Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures

EDUCATION:

--Supply Chain Management, Logistics, and Business Administration.

EXPERIENCE:

--Experienced with supplier management

--The position would require 0-2 years of experience
