Abbott Diagnostics Technologies AS is part of Abbott Diagnostics, bringing together teams of experts and industry-leading technologies to support diagnostic testing which provides important information for treatment and management of diseases and other conditions.

The position of Equipment and Inventory Specialist is within our Cardiometabolic and Informatics Business Unit located in Oslo, Norway. This role will perform verification activities ensuring tasks are performed and documented in accordance with current guidelines and will also be responsible for managing the MRO activities to support the operational efficiency and equipment reliability.

responsibilities

  • Carries out duties in compliance with established business policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrates commitment to the development, implementation, and effectiveness of applicable Quality Processes as per ISO, FDA, and other regulatory agencies.

  • Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices.

  • Responsibility to understand and maintain awareness of the quality consequences which may occur from the improper performance of their specific job.

  • Managing the calibration program

  • Managing the Maintenance procedure

  • Managing the Equipment and numbering procedure

  • Out Of Tolerance (OOT) reporting

  • Reviewing decommissioning of equipment

  • Assessments of new equipment – Criticality, Maintenance activities and creating records

  • Maintain the inventory management system for MRO supplies to ensure the availability of critical spare parts and maintenance supplies.

  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for the procurement and delivery of MRO items, negotiating contracts to secure the best terms and prices.

  • Oversee a system for tracking and reporting on MRO inventory levels, usage rates, and reorder points to prevent operational disruptions.

  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify and prioritize MRO needs, based on equipment criticality and maintenance schedules.

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards in the storage and handling of MRO supplies.

  • Project involvement

  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

  • The work is largely guided by procedures, with authority to make decisions regarding MRO management and procurement within defined limits.

minimum qualifications / education / experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, material science, chemical engineering or related fields, and 2-5 years’ experience in relevant industry, or

  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, material science, chemical engineering or related fields, and 1-3 years’ experience in relevant industry

  • Excellent written and oral skills in Norwegian and English languages

  • Precise and structured work methodology

  • Approved and valid background check from the Norwegian Civil Aviation Authority IF APPLICABLE

preferred qualifications

  • Knowledge about ISO 9001 (Quality assurance) and ISO 13485 (Medical devices) and IVD regulations in the US / EU

  • Experience with GMP

  • Experience with GMP and MRO management systems
