As a Visual Merchandising Manager, this person will be pivotal in leading and overseeing initiatives from inception (brief) to completion (deployment of guidelines to markets), collaborating with internal and external teams and suppliers. Responsible for both permanent and temporary brand activities, this person will ensure the successful development of the toolbox within specified timelines and allocated budgets.

This person will not only act as the reference contact for all our local markets as it related to all Visual Merchandising topics (permanent and temporary merchandising, planograms, display, POSM and ad-hoc markets requests) but also as a key contact with our JV partner and our Coty Trade/Marketing teams for all Merchandising matters.

He/She will also conduct competition research and analysis quarterly, with regular daily follow-ups on new trends within and outside Coty. Ensure clear communication and a proper approach, attend multi-functional meetings for regular updates, and report to the SVP on any production/timeline issues.

Be the expert in beauty-specific needs, including educational information on the point of sale, segmentation, updates, beauty advisor needs, etc.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Merchandising strategy
    • Define and manage our Global Visual Merchandising strategy for our 3 categories on a global scale.
    • Develop merchandising tools as needed for every launch (gondola updates, windows display, store entrance, etc.)
    • Develop our Merchandising strategy tied to key KCPs for the brand including Retailtainment, etc.
    • Update planograms according to Global brand strategy for every B&M launch.
    • Oversee Cosmetics, Skin and Fragrance projects, including planograms, grid management, offerings, and production coordination.
    • Lead planogram creation and validate changes with Marketing/Trade
    • Optimize reset strategy to ensure fluid and cost-efficient processes.

  • Project management
    • Lead the development above-mentioned points from ideation to delivery.
      • Plan and align with the Merchandising budget, reporting periodically to ensure financial compliance.
      • Brief creation by collaborating and aligning with JV partners and internal teams (Marketing, Trade Marketing, MMS)
      • Lead the retro-planning of initiatives to meet internal forecast system and planning guidelines.
      • Brief, screen, and follow-up on any material received from MMS (Marketing Material Supply).
      • Lead and coordinate with internal teams on the creation of Prometheus guidelines for central/global production elements.
      • Act as an MMS & production agencies spokesperson in creating prototypes, ensuring timely delivery respecting briefs and retail needs.
      • Liaise with suppliers and manage relationships with design agencies for POSM, podium, retailtainment, etc.
      • Coordinate with the internal agency (TAG) to create in-store guidelines.
      • In charge of creating board samples.
      • Manage event requirements, including meetings, logistics, orders, agency coordination, and internal collaboration.

  • Go-To-Market deployment:
    • Deploy guidelines to the markets in a timely manner within commercial readiness timelines
    • Support the local markets by facilitating discussions to ensure the right executions or post-deployment guidance in case of major issues.
    • Review all major permanent merchandising, temporary merchandising executed locally to ensure brand guidelines are strictly followed; coordinate approval process with JV partners.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

Experience with both iconic and indie founder brands, thrives in a fast paced, dynamic environment, and has worked in global COE's and/or commercial markets. He/she has an excellent understanding of Visual Merchandising as it relates to the Beauty industry, as an eye for branding/design, while keeping a true commercial mindset. He/she is passionate, creative, culturally sensitive, curious, accountable, highly organized, proactive, analytical, and collaborative, outspoken and able to pivot to many different stakeholders, topics.

  • 5+ years of proven experience in merchandising and project management.
  • University Graduate with a Degree from a Business school and/or Architecture/Design discipline.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Creative Software
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Technical understanding of materials, production techniques, printing techniques, and artwork processes.
  • Capability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Knowledgeable about shoppers, competitors, and customers to contribute to evolving and adapting brand guidelines.
  • Market operational experience or experience in a regional/international marketing or merchandising position is a plus.
  • Experience in Beauty industry is mandatory.
  • Effective communication skills to manage fashion house/license expectations, address Marketing needs, and navigate market constraints.
  • Solid team player with excellent interpersonal skills, fostering strong rapport with colleagues and suppliers.
  • Ability to work autonomously and multitask in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Salary: $120,000-$130,000
