About the role

Reporting to the Head of Planning and Reporting, you will play a crucial role in our FP&A team, supporting our business units by providing financial insights, analysis, and guidance to drive strategic decision-making. This role requires a proactive individual with exceptional analytical skills, business acumen, and the ability to collaborate effectively across various departments. Your day to day will involve working directly with a spectrum of stakeholders across our business on a variety of tasks, which will include:

What you will be doing:

• Budgets, forecasts and financial models – Own and improve our budgeting and forecasting processes and models, including working closely with business owners to develop and maintain ongoing plans. To do this, you will need to build strong relationships with business owners and build a deep understanding of the commercial drivers behind our business performance

• MI and reporting – Provide a range of business owners and management with accurate and timely MI to support strategic, operational, and tactical decisions. You will need to flex your reporting to meet different needs of users and provide insight (not just providing a data dump!), for example by analysing and reporting current and past trends in key performance indicators or producing scenario plans to assist strategic decision making along with suitable commentary and explanations.

• Commercial support and business partnering – Support different areas of the business in understanding the financial performance for their departments, teams and projects; or working alongside the business to prepare financial or commercial cases for deals and projects

• Cost management and pricing – Help our teams drive better efficiencies or revenue maximisation by analysing financial data to produce insights and producing pricing and cost models

• Process improvement and data quality – lead or participate in initiatives to improve processes, systems, and workflows to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

Ad hoc analysis and support – participate in strategic projects and support with ad hoc analysis as requested by management.

About You:

You will be a key finance team member for finova and you will feel comfortable collaborating with other members of the team and wider Group. You will be confident in your technical ability and able to communicate effectively with non-financial staff. In terms of your experience, your attitude is everything, but we'd particularly love to see:

· Business partnering / financial analysis experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment – ideally within a B2B SaaS / tech software industry

· Strategic mindset with a focus on driving business performance and growth.

· Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders within an organisation.

· Highly organised, efficient, and adaptable; able to proactively plan workload and manage priorities.

· Ability to work well in a team and with excellent interpersonal skills and positive energy.

Required Skills & Experience

· Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

· Minimum 2 years PQE working in a fast-paced SME environment, ideally in tech or software industries.

· Strong Excel skills with experience of building financial models

· Demonstrated experience working with and transforming large datasets to produce meaningful MI and experience of using data visualisation tools like PowerBI. A strong understanding of data governance is required.High degree of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.

· Experience using/implementing forecasting systems or tools would be desirable

· Solid understanding of IFRS, especially on revenue recognition and R&D capitalisation is a must.
