About the Mui Ho Fine Arts Library


An integral part of Cornell University Library, the offers an ever-expanding collection of materials on architecture, art, city and regional planning, landscape architecture, and photography in various formats and in multiple languages.


The Opportunity


Join the Mui Ho Fine Arts Library at Cornell University as our next Public Services Assistant. Under the general direction of the Administrative Supervisor, Music and Fine Arts Libraries, you'll contribute to the public services operations of the Mui Ho Fine Arts Library (FAL) by:

  • Collaborating and communicating effectively with other public services staff to ensure a high level of service and a consistent approach to policies and procedures.
  • Assisting with patron inquiries, circulation transactions, and overseeing work of student staff; may assist with similar responsibilities in other unit libraries as needed.
  • Managing a busy course reserve service, including e-reserves and on-site physical copy reserve materials.
  • Working with faculty, selectors, and library acquisitions staff to ensure reserve materials are ordered and available in a timely manner.
  • Providing functional supervision for the library on Saturdays and when covering for other staff; opens and closes the library at least one day per week.

This is a part-time, 25 hours per week position.


Typical work hours are Tuesday to Saturday between Noon and 7:00 PM. Specifics of your coverage with part-time hours will be determined by your supervisor and library needs. Hours will adjust during intersession periods and may change dependent upon the needs of the library. This position is performed on-site on Cornell's Ithaca Campus.

What We Need
