As a Hematology-Immunooncology Medical Science Liaison/MSL, you’ll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives.
AstraZeneca’s vision in Oncology is to help patients by redefining the cancer-treatment paradigm, with the aim of bringing six new cancer medicines to patients between 2013 and 2020. A broad pipeline of next-generation medicines is focused principally on four disease areas - breast, ovarian, lung and hematological cancers. As well as other tumor types, these are being targeted through four key platforms - immunotherapy, the genetic drivers of cancer and resistance, DNA damage repair, and antibody drug conjugates, underpinned by personalized healthcare and biomarker technologies.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The MSL is a field-based professional with scientific, clinical and therapeutic area expertise responsible for providing medical and scientific support for AstraZeneca's oncology marketed products, new indications for current products, and compounds in development. The MSL engages in scientific exchange with targeted Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Key Decision Makers (KDMs), and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) consistent with Medical Affairs and Therapeutic Brand Teams’ objectives.
The MSL will identify and engage key customers with scientific expertise and business knowledge of AstraZeneca marketed products and compounds in development. This includes developing peer-level relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Key Decision Makers (KDMs) and researchers consistent with Scientific and Medical Affairs strategy and objectives along with identifying pre-clinical, clinical and post-marketing study investigators in alignment with the goals of Clinical Development activities and Therapeutic Brand Teams initiatives.
As a MSL you will provide actionable information that enhances the value and appropriate use of AstraZeneca’s products to internal stakeholders; respond to customer inquiries to ensure focused and balanced clinical and scientific information that supports the appropriate use of AstraZeneca’s products and services and develop appropriate clinical and scientific information that clinically differentiates AstraZeneca’s products.
Additional accountabilities include adhering to internal standard processes and complying with regulatory and compliance requirements along with sustaining expertise in disease state management, emerging therapies and the competitive landscape.
This is a temporary position for 6 months
Medical or Pharmacist Degree or scientific degree with PhD
2+ years experience as a pharmaceutical medical liaison
Significant and robust experience with searching, handling, assimilating, synthesizing, reporting and presenting scientific data in the health care sector
National mobility and flexibility (organization and attendance of evening meetings)
Excellent relational and communication skills.
Takes initiative and proactive were needed while conscious of compliance and process rules in the company.
Knowledge of therapeutic area or the ability to acquire this knowledge rapidly. Broad employability in other TAs is an asset.
Medical integrity and ethical balance
Ability to travel (80-50%(
Fluent knowledge of Hebrew and English (verbal and written)
Experience in and knowledge of pharmaceutical medical and marketing processes
Experience in moderation of meetings with HCPs
Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
Proven Project management skills
