Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the system, board-level failure mode analysis, and mitigation.

  • Convert user needs and design inputs into hardware specifications.

  • Management of small-scale projects of varying complexities.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members, including quality engineering and regulatory.

  • Prepare and maintain programs and documentation for the electrical development life cycle.

  • Develop System architecture and detailed circuit design for embedded systems.

  • Act as a technical lead while guiding junior engineers.

  • Ability to design schematics, layout analysis, PCB layouts, and board bring-up.

  • Proven track record of fabricating PCB, working with the internal technical team and external vendors.

  • Test and troubleshoot PCBAs of existing and new products to the component level to address design-related issues.

  • Work with internal and external manufacturing partners to ensure producible designs (DFM/DFx)

  • Support the development of test fixtures and conducted characterization of engineering prototypes.

Qualifications

  • M.S. in Electrical Engineering, math, an engineering field, or equivalent work experience; Ph.D. preferred.

  • Minimum of 8 years of related work experience desired

  • Hands-on electrical circuit design experience in analog, digital, and mixed-signal systems

  • Understanding of signal processing, sensors, and motor driver systems

  • Expertise with electrical design software tools (Schematic capture and PCB layout)

  • Experience with safety and electromagnetic compatibility requirements and testing for medical devices.

  • Experience with high-level hardware programming languages such as VHDL or Verilog

  • Must be proficient with typical equipment used in an electrical engineering lab.

  • Ability to communicate ideas and information effectively and frequently (oral and written)

  • May require up to 10% travel – Domestic & International

  • Highly collaborative with excellent communication and analytical skills.

  • Self-motivated and willing to learn and explore new technologies.

  • Independent, efficient, and able to manage competing priorities.
