Responsibilities NONAPPROPRIATED FUND POSITION DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Club Manager BUSINESS TITLE: Assistant Club Manager JOB SERIES: 1101 PAY LEVEL: NF-03 INTRODUCTION: This position is located within MCB Camp S.D. Butler, Marine Corps Community Service (MCCS) Division, Business Operations Branch, Food Beverage and Entertainment Section. The position serves as the Assistant Club Manager and provides support and assistance to the Club Manager. The primary function of the position is to assist the manager in ensuring the overall efficiency of club operations and that our world customer service is maintained. The incumbent oversees all areas of food & beverage preparation and customer service, as well as facility maintenance and appearance to ensure measures are in place that promote both quality and efficiency. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: As the Assistant Club Manager, the incumbent assists the manager in directing the entire club operation to include food service, bar, lounge, game room (applicable to Surfside, Ocean Breeze, Taiyo Steak House, Palms and Beachhead), plus entertainment and special command functions/ private banquets. Incumbent assists in the planning and directing of the club operations as well as ensuring that club's policies, regulations and controls are observed. Is responsible to the manager for all matters pertaining to the booking of private functions, serving club members and guests. Recommends and plans menus with/to the party host. Assists the manager in assigning duties and supervision of all employees to include the proper scheduling of employees to maximize productivity and financial stability. Ensures that all cost controls and cash handling procedures are maintained at all times. Inspects the operation to ensure that employees follow sound sanitation practices, food & beverage handling and safety procedures. Assists the manager in conducting training programs for club employees on a periodic basis. In the absence of the manager, the incumbent is responsible for all aspects of the entire club. Those functions are such as but not limited to the receipt, safe keeping and accountability of club funds and reports as required. Ensures the provisions for all menu ingredients are available for the preparation of the menu. This includes overseeing stock controls and the preparation and submission of requests for all supplies and equipment to the appropriate source. Ensures that receipt of said supplies and equipment is done correctly. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Develops and ensures implementation of an activity safety program in accordance with the Base Safety Program. Conducts safety meetings at least quarterly. Advises employees of available safety regulations, instructions, materials and equipment. Promptly reports workplace accidents to the Human Resources Office. Ensures safety training is provided to employees. Complies with OSHA standards and takes action to correct unsafe or unhealthy working conditions. Ensures employees understand safety infractions that can result in disciplinary actions, and follows through with appropriate action. Ensures minimal loss of duty by complying with 'Return To Work' program initiatives, and following up on employee well being. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment See Duties and Qualifications EVALUATIONS: Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Must be at least 20 years of age. Must have a minimum of three years managerial experience in a club, food or hospitality related operation and/or educational equivalent. Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule to include weekends, holidays, and night time. Must have knowledge and understanding of retail / business practices such as budgeting, inventories and cost controls. Must possess friendly social skills and be able to interact with the customers on a daily basis. Must complete Cash Handling Training Course before handling funds and Refresher Course once per year. Must be able to complete Controlling Alcohol Risks Effectively (C.A.R.E) Instructor training to assure serving alcohol responsibly. Demonstrated ability to supervise subordinate employees, provide work direction to other employees, and resolve problems or dispute within the activity. Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office software and applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Must be able to complete USNH PIC (Person In Charge) and or Servesafe Food Manager training. This activity is a Drug-free workplace.
