The AstraZeneca Global Commercial Digital (GCD) Team seeks a seasoned Digital Partnerships and Digital Health expert to set the strategy for building strong flexible partnerships to drive innovation and better use technology to improve patient outcomes. Life sciences companies are shifting their business models toward outcomes-based performance and must consider how to seamlessly collect, combine and share a variety of health data in real time. This shift will involve the formation of agile, and often short-term, partnerships and collaborations. The GCD Sr Dir, Global Digital Partnerships and Digital Health will provide thought leadership and ensure cross-functional collaboration and coordination to understand and foster engagement with these ecosystems.

As the Sr. Director, you will work across our global commercial franchises seeking to understanding how changing customer needs directly affect the future value they can create — e.g., what kinds of products and services maximize revenues. You will be able to provide guidance and recommendations on the changing environment by aligning with other partners through partnerships or acquisitions to acquire the key capabilities required to design new innovations that meet evolving definitions of success.

You will also be constantly scanning and evaluating new partners across the digital health landscape to advise GPPS / priority markets on how best to contract and deploy based on business needs and requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for building a framework on how best to partner with new digital health partners and work cross functionality with internal AZ partners to establish value across the commercial business. Within this framework you will figure out how best to partner with health systems when building new digital health solutions which will include design, contractual guidance, compliance and reporting recommendations. You will advise how and when to partner vs build organic solutions. This will include cross-functional working with other global teams including IT, TIDE, GACE and Intel Pharma to define recommendations on the value proposition. You will be responsible for defining and establishing an innovation incubator model which allows for GPPS commercial teams to work with and evaluate new start-ups in a collaborative and learning environment. This incubator model will enable GDE to stay abreast of the latest technology and build capabilities internally amongst Brand, Medical and Corporate Affairs teams in the world of digital health.

Core Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master's Degree a plus).

  • At least 5 years of work experience in pharmaceutical digital marketing, and digital health

  • Highly collaborative individual with a track record of leading external partnerships effectively

  • Profound knowledge and awareness of the latest pharmaceutical trends including partnership initiatives, health alliances and digital health programs (within the industry and external players)

  • Experience fostering partnerships with calendars in a corporate environment.

  • Strong sense for content design (look and feel, knowledge of effective content formats, etc.), as well as a solid understanding of how to tailor content for different channels and platforms/devices.

  • Comfort working in a multinational corporate environment contributing to and prioritizing multiple high-level projects.

  • Extraordinary communication skills, including listening as well as explaining complex ideas and technologies.

  • Independent self-starter with a “plug-and-play” attitude for collaboration
