The GMD Innovation Center (IC) will identify, foster, and ensure embedding of innovation and technology that will disrupt the randomized clinical trial concept and lead to a mosaic of evidence that supports approvals and access, demonstrating the value of our medicines. The IC will own scouting, ideation, and initial concept development, and it will support piloting and scale-up. The IC will focus on transformative innovations in new evidence generation as well as select new-horizon innovation opportunities.
The GMDIC Project Manager will work alongside the IC Lead to manage the progress, milestones, risks, budget, and overall operations of the pilots and portfolio. This role will drive the financial, legal, IT, and procurement processes in coordination with the associated AstraZeneca function and may need to work with Business Development in certain circumstances.
You will be responsible for:
Working with pilot leads to create project plans and track progress. Track and proactively manage risks and issues and communicate to IC Lead and Governance Board.
Define and maintain full program roadmap consistent with the Innovation Center Strategy, including milestones, dependencies, risks, and issues to ensure there are no surprises for Stakeholders. Define and proactively manage interdependencies and risk to ensure IC portfolio is progressed to plan.
Organize PMO and Governance Board meetings, agenda, and action items.
Support annual ideation session leading to pilot ideas, support teams in preparing pilot proposals, support endorsement by the Innovation Council (GMD LT), and interrogate costings to ensure successful ring-fenced budget in line with the June portfolio review.
Assist in organizing, chairing, and follow up actions to Innovation Council meetings.
Work with pilot leads and finance to develop IC functional and pilot quarterly forecasts, actuals, and variances. Support Governance Board and IC Lead with allocation of funds to pilots. Assist with financial accruals.
Develop IC metrics and GMD scorecard goals against which pilots will be evaluated. Track performance against stated goals.
· Business Degree
· Significant experience leading transformational change and delivering genuine value
· Strong leadership and influencing skills. Ability to comfortably interact with senior level company leaders.
· Demonstrate strong, communication and relationship building skills with experience of collaborating and sharing knowledge
· Significant knowledge and experience on program/project management
· Ability to bring structure and organization to IC through project plans, meetings, and governance board
· Experience with financial budgeting, metrics, and analysis
· Proficiency with reviewing and negotiating contracts and familiarity with procurement procedures
