GPPS (Global Product and Portfolio Strategy) bridges science and commercial, integrating corporate, portfolio, therapy areas and product strategies, providing strategic direction from early-stage research through to commercialization.
We are looking for a Director of Strategy and Planning, Respiratory to join our Respiratory GPPS team, reporting to the commercial VP, Respiratory.
In this role, you will act as the lead on strategic Respiratory & Respiratory Biologics cross-functional projects. In this capacity, you will coordinate and manage the GPPS Respiratory Biologics meetings, shape the agenda items, set priorities, facilitate meetings, capture the action items and continually improve the ways of working and cross-function collaboration.
The successful individual will demonstrate strong skills in the areas of strategic thinking, judgement and influencing senior stakeholders, as well as strong planning, problem solving and communication skills.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
As the Director of Strategy and Planning, Respiratory & Respiratory Biologics, you will represent GPPS and be accountable to help develop the strategy and roadmap for our Respiratory commercial space in partnership with leadership.
Strategy Development & Implementation
Supports the Therapy Area Vice President to create the overall portfolio strategy and implementation plans
Provide coaching to team members in regards to strategy development and implementation
Accountable for Therapy Area deliverables and single point of contact to the central GPPS strategy function
Leads special projects as needed
Business Planning Cycle
Responsible for the long-range strategic planning for respiratory GPPS
Create process designs to streamline and simplify business processes
Facilitate generation of effective Brand Strategic Plans
Design annual Leadership Agenda for the cross functional respiratory GPPS team
Provide strategic input into quarterly F2F meeting agendas for respiratory GPPS leadership team and monthly operational meetings
Facilitate Leadership Team meetings, provide timely minutes documenting output, actions and decisions in collaboration with the tea
Support the Therapy Area Vice President in development of the GPPS team including talent management and career development
Responsible for overall functional budget (ABU and quarterly updates) and resource planning across respiratory GPPS

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent degree)
Significant exposure/experience of pharmaceutical Sales and Marketing operations/ Commercial IT platforms, risk management and business performance management in a large, complex multi-national organisation minimum 10 years’ experience.
Experience of strategy development and business planning experience, ideally within a Commercial environment
Previous consulting experience
Ability to build trusted relationships with Sr. Leadership and other key Stakeholders
Project management experience, highly organized, solutions-oriented
Proven ability to manage multiple projects/tasks effectively
Strong planning skills and analytical thinking
