Today, we are recruiting for a Power Supply System Installation Supervisor to join our team in Egypt. This is an excellent career opportunity for professionals looking to join a truly international team in one of the biggest projects of Siemens Mobility.

What are my responsibilities?

  • Verify and ensure the readiness of buildings for installation through site surveys.

  • Coordinate & supervise the installation at the site during the installation process of the cables, MV GIS Cable terminations, and power supply equipment including UPSDC battery backup systems (110VDC), SCADA, generators, MV equipment & 220kV equipment and connection to national electricity provider in accordance with the Contract and design documents.

  • Monitor the progress of installation activities.

  • Follow up on Progress report / Field instruction.

  • Report any material damages as well as inspect and analyze damages.

  • Report and Document the site/section status.

  • Conduct built drawings and review installation red mark drawings and as-built drawings.

  • Prepare and submit the progress reports.

  • Prepare and update of time schedule (installation part) according to project requirements.

  • Verify all used material for quantity verification and conduct quality checks on incoming/outgoing.

  • Familiarize himself with the project's technical specifications and ensure that the requirements of the specification are adhered to laisse with the owners / internal inspector or his representative.

  • Provide and validate method statements, perform all checks on required EHS documents, and attend toolbox talks.

  • Ensure that Siemens Environment, Health, and Safety policies are complied with during the execution.

  • Participate in and perform commissioning tasks and acceptance tests for our equipment.

  • Predominantly based on sites along the e-HSR project.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

  • Minimum 5 years of site experience in a similar function.

  • Experience in installations of UPS, generator, SCADA, 220kV AIS & 220kV transformers and MV GIS, valid Certification on GIS and AIS HV Switchgear as well as (SF6 handling Certificate and (SIEMENS 8DA11/12 and SIEMENS 220kV HV AIS SWGR) are an advantage are required.

  • Experience with HV/MV distribution networks and familiarity with local electrical distribution company procedures.

  • Dealt with governmental public sector companies.

  • Attended EHS training like OHSAS, NFPA 70, Electric Code, Lockout – Tag out procedures, and Safe Lifting.

  • Familiar with electrical international codes and standards for installation.

  • Fair knowledge of contracts with a good command of business writing.

  • Previous experience and practice with handover procedures, preferably with the governmental sector projects.

  • Proficiency in preparing installation methods statements.

  • Proficiency in reading and applying the shop and construction drawings.

  • Basic Knowledge and practice of Microsoft projects.

  • Practiced supervision of subcontractors.

  • Knowledge of warehouse, storage of material, and work preparation

  • Intercultural experience.

  • Fluency in both written and spoken English.

  • Solid awareness and implementation of safe electrical power switching and isolation. Additionally, highly conscious of EHS rules and regulations, preferably OSHA/NFPA certified.

  • Lockout and tag-out procedures.

  • Work safely on energized circuits and be familiar with the proper use of special precautionary techniques, personal protective equipment, insulating and shielding materials, and insulated tools.

  • Valid driving license and able to work in a dynamic environment and in several site locations with the willingness to travel.
