As the Manager of Architecture and Infrastructure, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our organization's IT infrastructure and systems. You will lead a team of engineers to ensure that our infrastructure meets the needs of our business operations, adheres to industry best practices, and supports scalability, reliability, and security requirements. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and strategic thinking to drive the evolution and optimization of our technology infrastructure.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Strategic Planning:

• Develop and implement the strategic vision for the organization's IT architecture and infrastructure.

• Collaborate with IT leadership to align infrastructure initiatives with business objectives and priorities.

• Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

2. Team Leadership:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of infrastructure engineers.

• Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

• Delegate tasks effectively and ensure the team's efforts are aligned with organizational goals.

3. Infrastructure Design and Implementation:

• Design robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions to support business applications and services.

• Oversee the implementation and deployment of infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

• Conduct regular reviews and assessments of existing infrastructure to identify areas for optimization and improvement.

• Collaborate with cross functional IT and business teams to design and deliver systems and solutions.

4. Technology Evaluation and Selection:

• Evaluate hardware, software, and cloud service providers to make informed decisions about technology investments.

• Work closely with vendors and partners to negotiate contracts, SLAs, and service agreements.

• Stay abreast of industry developments and best practices to inform technology selection and adoption strategies.

5. Security and Compliance:

• Collaborate with the security team to conduct regular audits and assessments, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.

6. Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

• Establish performance monitoring frameworks and metrics to assess the health and performance of the infrastructure.

• Analyze performance data and trends to identify optimization opportunities and make recommendations for improvement.

• Implement proactive measures to optimize resource utilization, improve system reliability, and enhance user experience.

7. Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:

• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure resilience and continuity of operations.

• Conduct regular testing and simulations to validate the effectiveness of recovery procedures and response capabilities.

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to minimize downtime and mitigate the impact of disruptions.

REQUIRED CORE TECHNICAL SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:

• Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and managing high available Infrastructure solutions for large enterprises.

• Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing Converged Infrastructure (Cisco UCS) and Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (Nutanix experience highly desirable)

• Demonstrated experience with Private, hybrid and public cloud (Azure/AWS, more focus on Azure).

• Demonstrated experience designing and managing VMWare solutions.

• Demonstrated experience managing and leading technical teams.

• Experience with backup platforms (Cohesity highly preferred)

• Experience with storage platforms (Pure Storage, EMC VMAX, etc.)

• Experience in managing colocation data centers.

• Working experience with VDI platforms (Microsoft AVD preferred)

• Experience in designing high available infrastructure solutions for application teams (app/web/db tiers)

• Ability to assume complete ownership of solutions deployment from concept to deployment and transition to operations.

• Collaborate with application teams to deliver high available infrastructure/platform necessary to host applications.

• Experience with Microsoft Enterprise technologies like Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, MFA and SSO etc.

• Design and document technology architecture including diagrams and charts.

• Ability to provide ROI and TCO details for new proposed solutions.

• Championing efforts to standardize processes, technologies, and adopt IT best practices is highly desirable.

• Experience implementing and testing Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) strategies and solutions.

• Data center migrations/consolidation experience

• Understanding of routers, firewalls, and switches

• Understanding of Linux, Unix and AIX operating systems

• Understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle database platforms

• Understanding of Microsoft, Linux, VMWare, and Oracle licensing requirements and rules are a big plus.

• Preparation and maintenance of IT Systems documentation and guidelines

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Demonstrated experience driving successful project outcomes.

• 15+ years of technical IT experience is desired.

• 5+ years of IT lead or management experience is desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.

• Proven experience (5 years) in a leadership role overseeing architecture and infrastructure teams.

• In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies, including servers, storage, backups, virtualization, public cloud computing, data centers and networking.
