The project manager plays a critical role on the Own Brand team, leading execution for all packaging design across Grocery, Sundries, Perishables, and General Merchandise businesses. They partner with own brand managers, merchants, vendors, and the design agency to ensure that projects run smoothly, on-time and within budget. They coordinate people and processes to deliver projects on time, within budget and with the desired outcomes aligned to objectives. A key part of the project manager's role is to identify and mitigate risks which may impact successful delivery of projects.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

Project Management: Ensures on-time execution for all packaging projects

• Pro-actively manage projects within defined timelines from activation to artwork release

• Works with vendors to understand their lead time for all aspects of the development process

• Organizes cross-functional partners to ensure actions remain in synergy, milestones are completed, and deadlines are met

• Develops and prepares project status reports and presentations. Prepares and delivers effective, timely, meaningful communications (written and verbal) throughout the project lifecycle

• Establishes and communicates project priorities and project status to manage to key milestones

• Facilitate communication as appropriate to all involved and manage stakeholders’ expectations

• Create visibility and transparency of project(s) progress, adjusts schedules and targets as needed

• Problem-solve and identify solutions when challenges arise

Process Improvements: improves clarity and optimizes use of resources

• Identify process opportunities and facilitate solutions and enhancements

• Implement best-in-class design practices including design reviews, evaluation of packaging in context, competitive reviews, etc.)

Relationship Management

• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, merchants and OBMs

• Manage relationships and adjust process/ways of working when necessary

• Manage relationship with design agency as primary point of contact

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree

• 3-5 Years of Project or Change Management experience

• Working knowledge of project management tools

• Strong computing skills (Excel, PowerPoint…)

• Work well both independently and in a team atmosphere

• Highly organized and process oriented with ability to multi-task

• Strong analytical and organizational skills

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Ability to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $92,500.00.
