Cisco Business Operations Manager in Austin, Texas

What You'll Do

Operations is a critical part of our Americas Sales organization and is integral to our ongoing transformation and growth. The Business Operations Manager role, covering strategic projects, is a highly collaborative position whose goal is to support transformational change and drive understanding, adoption, and utilization of business processes, systems, technology, and organizational structures that impact our Sales teams.

This is a Sales support role that requires insight into the mechanics of the Americas Sales organization and familiarity with Sales tools, Sales teams, their go-to-market strategies, and Cisco’s transformational change.

We are looking for a self-starter who has demonstrated success dealing with ambiguity, operating in growing teams, and solving problems with minimal oversight and a consistent track record in project management.

In this role, you will:

  • Track and lead activities related to strategic & transformational changes impacting Sales and Sales Readiness.

  • Maintain a holistic view of all system and tool updates, compensation changes, metric and policy changes, and strategic shifts in the business.

  • Source or develop (often creating our own) content to support required communications

  • Collaborate with Geo Peers to ensure global consistency in the timing and messaging

  • Work with Comms teams to decide how best to disseminate, to whom, and when.

  • Maintain a consistent view of companywide (Renewals, IT, NYR, Tools, Comp, etc.) changes to stay ahead of and/or plan for in advance our communication approach

  • Manage multiple change-related initiatives from Cisco corporate, including strategic pilots, documenting feedback, and providing a final project perspective.

  • Leadership: Integrity and transparency build trust. Ability to manage and influence cross-functional teams and seek support for collaborative activities.

  • Project Management: Ability to manage the change plan, resources, deliverables and outcomes, and overall responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of Project Management. PMP not required

  • 5+ years of work experience in Sales support, business operations, sales operations, business development, and corporate strategic planning.

  • Proficient (to a high degree) with PowerPoint, Asana (Project Management), and MS Office tools.

  • Experience with Sharepoint, Mindtickle, and Sales Connect (development, creation - not simply usage)

  • Bachelors in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hires, and full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canadian locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation targets. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location. U.S. employees have [1] access to quality medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, and numerous well-being offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of the target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
