Position Overview - Communications Brand Manager

The CRH Government Relations team (GR Team) mission is to ENGAGE. elected officials, EDUCATE. them on how they can help make our business better to ultimately make an IMPACT.

The GR Team is looking for a driven and talented creative, analytical, and results-oriented Communications Manager to help implement the strategic development and execution of GR brand priorities and communications for the GR Team. Candidates should have a deep understanding of brand building and passion for developing and implementing customer-obsessed, insights-driven integrated marketing campaigns. The position will require equal parts imagination and execution.

This role will partner closely with our internal GR Team to advance the CRH business and GR brand across all marketing channels. You will be a tenacious marketer who brings thought leadership and a strong point of view to your work. It requires an ability to see the big picture, while building roadmaps and processes to scale, rolling up sleeves and executing in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions) Develop eye-catching creative communications, resources, including websites, newsletters, employee communications, internal meetings, videos, and company publications to help promote employee. engagement and effective external messaging on all things government relations. Develop deeply resonant campaigns for GR platforms, commercial moments, and seasonal considerations - initiate the work, guide the work, inspire the work, deploy the work measure and report on success of marketing campaigns. Bring to life the personality of the Government Relations team's brand both internally and externally. Write articles, copy, memos, papers, press releases, emails and other communications, including, but not limited to end of year "IMPACT Report" detailing the accomplishments of CRH employees engagement in government relations. Manage communication projects independently that keep key internal constituents informed and involved, external advocacy efforts, and current affair updates. Develop and execute a social media strategy including Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram that takes the government relations work seriously but not itself too seriously. Work with corporate and local operating company and trade associations communications teams on pushing out campaigns including but not limited to Phone2Actions campaigns. Develop and maintain government relations scoreboard to track progress on key issues. Assist the Government Relations team members with preparing dynamic PowerPoint, and Prezi presentations. Maintain calendar and key date tracker for the Government Relations team and the corresponding communications to ensure timely launches and all parties can easily find information of the events.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, or related field or comparable discipline or other related discipline and/or equivalent combination of knowledge, skills and abilities. 5 years of relevant experience writing, editing, designing, administering and supporting communications efforts in a large corporate office and/or political environment. Ability to maintain a website and manage vendor relationships for the organization. Experience writing/publishing a newsletter and utilizing social media. Experience in design and preparation of pre entations and other media. Experience with graphic design, multi-media, webcasting, videography, and/or photography.

Must be willing to travel and work away from home up to 20%. Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check. Willingness to work independently within a team environment and assist with other duties as required.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

You should be a strong visual communicator and writer as well as passionate about the services we provide and the people we serve. Creative mindset with a passion for branding and storytelling Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Adobe software including Acrobat and Photoshop. Demonstrate a hands-on, collaborative approach, work well in a team. Demonstrate strong oral / written communication and listening skills. Have strong planning and organizing skills, as well as project management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrates excellent attention to details. Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, appropriate manner. Ability to summarize data from different sources into a concise format that can be easily expanded and communicated to support initiatives. Demonstrates the following competencies in the execution of work: customer focus, communicates effectively, action oriented, organizational savvy, interpersonal savvy, plans and aligns, tech savvy.
